There are so many useful on-line resources now. These are links to some I have found useful and interesting. This list was compiled in 2014, I’ve added to it a bit recently however I must admit it’s a bit out of date!
Irish Seed Savers Association.The Irish seed savers association is doing vital work in preserving Ireland's diversity of plants.
"Our main objective is the conservation of Ireland’s very special and
threatened plant
genetic resources. Our work focuses on the preservation of heritage
varieties from all over the world that are suitable for Ireland’s unique
growing conditions".The Irish Garden Plant Society,
Garden visits, members seed list, plant sales/exchanges, talks and newsletter, all with an emphasis on Irish gardens and on Irish plants.
RHSI. "The Royal Horticultural Society of Ireland, founded in 1816, is a registered charity, dedicated to promoting and improving the knowledge, skill and practice of horticulture, arboriculture and floral art. Today, the RHSI is the leading organisation for gardeners in Ireland".
The Dublin garden trail The Dublin Garden Trail (DGT) includes some of the best private gardens in the greater Dublin area. Some are only open at specific times or by appointment but all relevant information is available through their site.
Carraig Dúlra
Suzie and Mike have put heart and soul into Carraig Dúlra to create a space to nurture the soil, plants and people, a unique and inspiring vision is unfolding there.

Howbert and Mays
Previously known as D.Y.G (Delivering Your Garden) This garden centre in Monkstown, Dublin also has an excellent on-line site delivering nationwide. Now, also a new shop at Airfield estate in Dundrum! I cannot praise highly enough the skill, knowledge, experience and artistry that Anthea and Tig bring to everything they do.
" Established and run by Anthea Howbert and Tig Mays, they choose plants that they love as well as all the other supplies necessary for the keen gardener: from tools and gadgets to pots and vases; from books and bird feeders to seeds and furniture. Everything they sell is of a high quality: designed to look good and to last a lifetime. Most of the plants are from specialist Irish nurseries, and they sell plants that you'll be hard pressed to find elsewhere".

Excellent tools and very good value green manure seed.

Mount Venus Nursery & Garden Centre Dublin. Wonderful plants. Really, really, wonderful plants!
Altamont plants. Excellent snowdrops, Hellebores and early spring plants, a great range of perennials, trees and shrubs throughout the year. All on the doorstep of the wonderful Altamont gardens in Co. Carlow.
Kilmurry nursery Gorey Co. Wexford. Fantastic plants and a wonderful garden! A family run plant nursery based in co. Wexford. offering a huge selection of herbaceous perennials and grasses. The garden is part of Wexford Garden Trail and open to visitors. In the summer months offering refreshments in the new Tearooms".
VAN DER WEL LTD. (Cappagh Nurseries), Aughrim, Co. Wicklow. "A family run Nursery / Garden Centre , growing and supplying a wide range of plants since 1967". An increasingly interesting range of trees and shrubs, (some real gems at times!). Great selection and good value bare root trees in winter.
Hunting Brook gardens Jimi Blakes inspirational, immersive, joyful garden. Jimi's infectious enthusiasm is also shared through his book "A beautiful obsession" and through courses and events.

I have found bare-root plants in Winter will get off to a good-start and are much more affordable than buying plants in pots in the growing season.
